Hello people,

Wow! First of all, I want to thank you all for the responses I got from my first blog post. When I started this blog I did not expect that people will even be slightly interested in what I had to say but boy was I wrong.

In my last post, I promised to do a write up on the VLCD (VERY LOW CALORIE DIET) I am presently undergoing called the Cambridge Diet Plan. permit me to digress a little,here is a picture of me today


This is a very low calorie diet which consists of shakes and soups. It is basically a liquid diet where the individual takes shakes consisting of 450-520 calories daily for a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 12 weeks at a time.

I must say that this diet is not for the faint hearted. Like I said in my first post, I am a foodie and for me to give up food in its whole entirety then you know it had gotten Bad real bad Michael Jackson.

Now many people who I have talked to about my diet are more worried about how I plan to sustain the weight when I stop my VLCD.

The Cambridge diet has six steps with the last step being maintenance where you are placed on a strict 1500 calorie meal plan coupled with exercise. Needless to say you will be have to be under the watchful eyes of a Cambridge certified consultant.

Before you start the diet, you must meet up with a registered consultant who will access you in all aspects, and pronounce you medically fit before you can start the diet.

I have being on the Cambridge diet for about  10 days now and as at the last time I weighed myself, I had lost a total of 8kg. To be honest when I look in the mirror I don’t see much of a difference even if all my clothes are dropping from my waist and I am beginning to fit into clothes that I couldn’t fit into before halleluyah.LOL.

A colleague came up to me today to ask me what I am eating that she has noticed that I am losing weight and my sister who hadn’t seen me in a while saw me yesterday and said yes I notice you have lost weight, the very little joys.

Finally before I go, I want to tell you a little story. I saw this video of a lady who lost 575 pounds over six years. What I took out of her story was her patience, her focus was her goal and she never let anything deter her from that and most importantly God.

I have done so many weight loss programs on my own many a time, I lose weight but I quickly gain it back. The day before I started my Cambridge diet I knelt down and prayed to God and asked him to hold my hand and see me through this journey because I knew there will be days when I want to give up. I asked for the fighting spirit to take it one step at a time and to be able to remember to go back to him when the journey gets tough. There are days when I cry yes tears because I want to EAT but so far I haven’t given in and I know I WONT so help me God.

The Lord has never left me since, anytime I find myself craving those things I love: yes I still love them there is no fronting here it’s all a process and that is why we are here. I pray I ask him to open my eyes to see where I was and show me that I have come a long way and he always does.
